Ann Lano is a writer/editor who specializes in complex communications programs. Her work with GCF on Vanderbilt University's admissions series in 2000-01 won several CASE awards, and her text for Goucher College's 1998 campaign/annual report won the CASE International Gold Award. Her writing for the Fannie Mae Foundation's 1997 annual report won the Council on Foundations' National Gold Award, the Wilmer Shields Rich Award for Excellence in Communications. She previously served for nine years as director of publications at Goucher College in Baltimore, where her work received awards from CASE and PRSA, among others, as well as inclusion in the Mead Annual Report Show. She received an M.A. in English from Kansas State University, where she also taught English literature. She has worked as a master teacher in adult basic and continuing education in Minneapolis and as a marketing coordinator for the University of Maryland University College Conferences and Institutes Program. In 1996, she joined Pam Sheff as a principal in Sheff & Lano Communications.
